Building community between Japan and the Cayman Islands

Supporting Education through Experience

Whether you are learning a different language or exploring a new culture, the best way to gain a true understanding is through direct experience. The Japan Society of the Cayman Islands is dedicated to encouraging cross-cultural communication between Japan and the Cayman Islands through study abroad (via our Ambassador Program), sponsoring Japanese cultural events in the Cayman Islands, and promoting the Cayman Islands to Japan.

Ambassador Program

The Cayman-Japan Ambassador Program is offering a study abroad scholarship for students enrolled in the educational institutions of the Cayman Islands. The goal of this program is to sponsor a student from Cayman to study abroad at a school in Japan in order to foster cross-cultural relationships between the Cayman Islands and Japan.

Scholarship students will experience Japanese language and culture first-hand by living with a Japanese host family and attending classes at a local school. They will travel to Japan as an Ambassador, representing the people and values of the Cayman Islands.

We are currently working with schools in Japan to create a scholarship program for Summer 2024. For more information, please contact us.

Japanese Cultural Events

The Japan Society of the Cayman Islands aims to host Japanese cultural events on Grand Cayman. For a list of upcoming events, please see our calendar.

Japanese Language

JSCI hosts in-person Japanese language classes for all levels of Japanese.

Whether you are a student interested in learning Japanese or a business professional preparing for a meeting with Japanese clients, our team can assist.
